The Training and Capacity Building Programme at Ibda’a Cultural Center is designed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and leadership capacities of children, young people, women, volunteers, and community members. The programme provides a wide range of non-formal education and professional development opportunities, including training in leadership, project management, communication, digital and media skills, human rights, child protection, civic engagement, entrepreneurship, fundraising, financial literacy, environmental awareness, and intercultural dialogue. Through workshops, mentoring, coaching, peer learning, and practical volunteering experiences, participants develop the competencies needed to become active citizens, community leaders, and professionals capable of contributing to the sustainable development of their communities.
A distinctive feature of the programme is Ibda’a’s commitment to developing local leadership from within the community. Many of the centre’s current staff members, trainers, and board members first joined Ibda’a as children or volunteers and gradually progressed through continuous learning, volunteering, and leadership opportunities to become decision-makers and community leaders. By investing in long-term capacity building, promoting youth participation in decision-making, and creating pathways from participation to leadership, the programme ensures the sustainability of the organisation while empowering a new generation of skilled, confident, and socially responsible leaders.
