The Women’s Economic Empowerment Project at Ibda’a Cultural aims to strengthen the role of women in the local community by providing opportunities for learning, capacity building, and the development of professional and entrepreneurial skills that support greater economic and social independence. The project responds to the challenges faced by women, particularly limited employment opportunities and restricted access to income-generating resources, through specialised vocational training, support for small income-generating initiatives, and the development of skills in business management, marketing, and digital tools.

The project is based on Ibda’a’s vision of considering women as active partners in community development, rather than only beneficiaries of services. Through training, mentoring, and networking with local institutions, the project supports women in transforming their skills and ideas into real economic opportunities, increasing their participation in economic life and strengthening their role in decision-making within their families and communities.

The project also contributes to building women’s confidence, leadership skills, and solidarity, while promoting a more resilient and self-reliant community. It builds on Ibda’a’s long experience in working with women, children, and youth in Dheisheh Refugee Camp, following an approach that empowers community members to become active contributors and leaders capable of creating positive and sustainable change.
