The Women’s Empowerment & Psychosocial Support Project at Ibda’a Cultural Center aims to empower women and adolescent girls in Dheisheh Refugee Camp by enhancing their social, economic, and emotional well-being. The project provides a safe and inclusive space where women can access psychosocial support, life skills education, vocational training, leadership development, and awareness sessions on women’s rights, gender equality, health, and protection. Through individual and group counselling, peer support activities, creative expression, and community engagement, the project helps women build resilience, strengthen self-confidence, and overcome the psychological and social challenges associated with conflict, displacement, and economic hardship.
The project also promotes women’s active participation in community life and decision-making by encouraging volunteerism, civic engagement, and leadership. Participants are supported in developing entrepreneurial and vocational skills, establishing income-generating initiatives, and becoming agents of positive change within their families and communities. By integrating psychosocial support with capacity building and economic empowerment, the project contributes to improving women’s quality of life, strengthening family resilience, promoting gender equality, and fostering a more inclusive and supportive community.
