Ibdaa Radio 194 was established in 2004. It was named “194” in reference to United Nations Resolution 194 concerning the right of return for Palestinian refugees. It was one of the first radio stations established inside a refugee camp, providing a space for young people to produce programs and address issues related to the camp and Palestinian society.

 

The radio was created to provide a platform for young men and women to express their opinions, develop their skills in media, broadcasting, and audio production, and strengthen the role of media as a tool for cultural and social awareness.

 

Ibdaa Radio 194 presented a variety of programs covering youth issues, education, health, culture, and national identity. It documented stories from the local community and highlighted the challenges faced by residents of refugee camps. The radio also contributed to training a generation of young people in presentation, program preparation, recording, and media production skills.

 

Despite the impact it made in the field of community media, the radio later stopped operating due to the lack of an official broadcasting license. However, it remains an important experience in the history of Ibdaa Center and youth media work, representing the role of media in empowering young people and providing them with a platform to express their voices and address the issues affecting their communities.
